The Department of Chemistry at Maruthupandiyar College, Thanjavur, was established in the academic year 2015–2016 with the vision of providing quality higher education to rural students in and around Thanjavur. The department offers Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Ph.D. programmes, creating a strong academic and research foundation for aspiring learners.
With a team of dedicated and experienced faculty members, the department focuses on nurturing scientific knowledge, practical skills, and research aptitude among students. Special emphasis is given to laboratory training, modern techniques, and industry-relevant practices that prepare students to meet global challenges.
